Bloom 2019 - Certificate of Distinction

St. Oliver Plunkett NS Parents Gardening Group (with Ruth Dunne & Geraldine O'Toole) was inspired by the European Union Blue Star Project and showcases childen’s literature from each of the member states.  The aim of this postcard garden was to foster better knowledge and understanding of the culture of each EU country.  Children follow the stepping stones into the garden where they can sit and pluck a book to enjoy in tranquil surroundings. The mirrored door depicts the child getting lost in a story that takes them on a journey into different worlds. Design and Planting by Bernie O'Reilly, the spectacular stepping stone books, brick books and other art installations by Clodagh Travers and some of the parents and children from the school.
